"Never doubt that
a small group of committed people can change
the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Volunteerism is at the heart of what
we do so please join me in congratulating the 2007
College Goal Sunday
Volunteer of the Year!
Donna
Wood Lozier has been an enthusiastic CGS volunteer
and supporter since her first year in MA, 2005. Donna's
support of MA CGS extends far beyond being a willing
volunteer. Donna has jumped in on many occasions.
Donna is not one to worry about how to do something
or what
should be done. She just takes action and makes good
decisions. She energetically promoted CGS in her
community in the program’s first year while
many were trying to figure out who to contact and
how to talk about CGS.
She advocated for additional sites and did a lot
of the leg work for site development and selection
in program’s
second, third and fourth years. She reached out to
volunteers for her site as coordinator to plan for
a smooth event.
She took the initiative to go beyond detailed emails
and arranged for an on-site meeting for all volunteers
in her area. She followed the event by extending
thank you notes to each of her volunteers and is
a model
for site coordinators. She established her own set
of best
practices which made her the most logical choice
when CGS created a leadership position for site coordinator
support and development. Her energy and enthusiasm
in supporting students through the financial aid
application
process is contagious and invigorating.
Please join
us in thanking and congratulating Donna for her
efforts. She can be reached at Springfield
College in Springfield, MA by email at dwoodlo@spfldcol.edu. |
