Preserving MASFAA’s History

By Shawn Morrissey

Framingham State College

Do you remember what you were doing in 1975? How about 1987 or 1993? Do you remember what was happening in MASFAA during those same times? Maybe you were involved in MASFAA, conducting some innovative new training, writing an interesting new article for the newsletter, working to make sure the new legislation coming out was on target.

MASFAA has established an Archives Committee to try to capture all this information. It’s time for MASFAA to recapture its youth and rediscover its beginnings. Like we all do as we get older, the past begins to get fuzzy and we lose track of things we once had at our fingertips. Older possessions get put into attics and basements, sometimes even get thrown away.
We’re asking you to go to your attics, basements and storage rooms and find any MASFAA information you may have. We are searching for Newsletters before 1995, Conference Programs, year-end President’s reports, Committee lists and activities, pictures from MASFAA events.

We plan to compile all the information we can gather from MASFAA’s past into an organized archive. As we move into exciting new times in the future of MASFAA, let’s be sure to have as much information from its past to build upon as possible.

Any items you may have can be sent to Shawn Morrissey, Associate Director of Financial Aid, Framingham State College, 100 State St., Framingham, MA 01701, or via email at smorris@frc.mass.edu.
