The Government Relations Committee (GRC) functions as liaison for MASFAA members to the many resources available for your research and common use. At our recent conference, our committee presented some valuable material on Consumer Information and how this very important requirement drives our policies and procedures for delivering financial aid and service to our students, our Customers!
MASFAA web resources don’t stop there. As many schools seek to compile and make available, thorough information to students and their families on student loans, you may find our RFI template helpful in putting together comprehensive information for potential borrowers of education loans.
Have you ever wondered how to connect with your elected officials? It’s never been easier! You can now “Get informed and Get involved”. Go to www.congress.org. Click on Write Your Lawmaker, key in your zip code and you can email your senator or congress person on any issue you think is important, like student financial aid! Our MASFAA web page also carries a news feed from the NASFAA web page to keep our members who may not get the daily NASFAA news emails informed on key national issues.
Our events calendar can keep you up to date on what’s happening out there, whether it’s a conference or an event, such as FAFSA Day, Just the Facts training or the Fall Carnival of Learning.
And don’t forget about the links to our committees! Check it out and see if you might be interested in joining any of the committees with MASFAA. It’s a great way to connect with colleagues and learn about almost every aspect of financial aid that impacts our students.
If any MASFAA member has a question or comment on our interaction with state government or federal legislators, please contact our committee co-chairs, Patty Reilly, Donna Kendall or any GRC committee member. |
