The 8th Annual FAFSA Day was a success! FAFSA Day helped 1,630 students complete their FAFSA! Over 25 locations held their FAFSA Day on Sunday, January 29 2012, and additional sites hosted their events on other dates. Thank you to MASFAA, all our partners and volunteers for making this event a success!
Here are some stats:
Volunteers
- 412 Total Volunteers, of which 218 were MASFAA Members!
- 87 more volunteers this year than last year and 56 more MASFAA members volunteered this year.
Registered Participants
- 1,592 participants registered as of the day of the final events. Last year we only had 1,155 register online prior to attending the event.
- The week of the event we had 667 participants register, averaging almost 75 students a day.
Sites
- 29 total sites this year!
- Helped a total of 1,630 students complete their FAFSA, an increase of 125 students when compared to last year. Most students came with family members, thus a total of 2,763 attended the event.

FAFSA Day Massachusetts, a College Goal SundaySM program, is a non-profit, volunteer-driven effort in its 8th year providing FREE help statewide to students entering college in 2012 and looking to complete the FAFSA. Low-income, first-generation students are especially encouraged to attend. Assistance is also available for adult students preparing to enroll in college in 2012.
