The Presidential
Award recognizes outstanding service and time dedicated
to MASFAA. The recipient of this award has provided
an important contribution to MASFAA, either by a single
achievement or achievements accomplished over a period
of time. The recipient can be counted on to complete
tasks for the association often with little fanfare.
This year, the award will be given to two individuals.
The recipient of this year’s Presidential Award
has demonstrated outstanding service and dedication
to MASFAA over a significant period of time. This individual
has served on the Technology Committee for more than
eight years and, during this time, has served as
Co-Chair
of this Committee twice. This person has been a constant
contributor to the Association. This individual has
never been one to just sit back and let things happen.
Instead,
this person always makes a significant effort to
become a part of the process. This individual is so
passionate
about MASFAA that they are always thinking about
ways to make the Association better. As the Technology
Committee
chair, this person does not just update web pages,
but is constantly trying to find innovative ways to
improve
the site and, in turn, the overall effectiveness
of the Association in serving its members. Whenever
a suggestion
is made to improve technology, this individual never
says that it can’t be done. Instead, this person
finds a way to either implement the idea or to propose
an even better solution. This individual never hesitates
to speak their mind about any issue affecting MASFAA,
and always has the best interests of the Association
in mind when they do so.
In recognition of this individual’s
long-term contributions to MASFAA, I am pleased to
give this year’s Presidential
Award to Leah Barry of Boston
University. |
