Learn from the Director’s Workshop By Jason Shumaker MIT Professional Development & Training On November 1st, the Professional Development and Training Committee (PD&T) hosted the annual Learn from the Directors workshop at the Wellesley College Club. Eighteen people attended and benefited from the sessions on HERA (with emphasis on ACG and SMART); Hiring, Training & Motivating Staff; Advanced Excel Reporting; and a lively discussion with several current financial aid directors.

Thank you to our presenters: Michele Kosboth from Lasell College, Nick Yoia from Quinnipiac University, Daniel Barkowitz from MIT, Jenny Aguiar from Dean College, and Marcia Toomey from Endicott College. And a special thank you to PD&T committee members Julie Lawton and Jenny Aguiar for their hard work in creating and running a great workshop. Keep an eye out for PD&T’s annual Support Staff Workshop in February and the Novice Financial Aid Administrator Workshop coming in June.
